I think this strip is humorous in two ways. It has a slapstick aspect to it, and it gets us to laugh at something, at least for a moment, that we know is quite serious and that makes us sad.
The phrase, “Surely everything fits together and has a purpose…,” expresses our fear that everything does not. The question, “I wonder what happens if you throw up in zero gravity?” also expresses that fear. We live in zero gravity – that is our fear. As Sartre observed, it creates a condition in us he called “nausea.”
hahahaha
Excellent way to start the day. Thanks Ryan.
Best comic strip ever! Thanks R.
