Due to my constant whining and complaining about the ubiquity of Facebook and Twitter and whatever other social networking phenomenon is currently dominating and distracting us, I am becoming known as something of a Luddite around the office here. Which is why this little video found its way into my inbox today.
(Yes, I am aware of the irony/hypocrisy of posting a video like this on a blog, of all things! I have nothing to say in my defense. I have, however, recently taken to writing out my sermons with a pen and paper, to aid my concentration if nothing else! I look at it as one small tiny act of protest and self-determination before we are finally and completely taken over by our machines.)

That video is very funny!
Microsoft needs to take a lesson from its latest Xbox and come up with something a lot more user friendly than the blue screen. And for the Mac… well, I don’t know what to say – I don’t use Macs. =/
at least you use a mac, which makes you cool… at least thats what the TV told me… and I dare not argue with my master.
You dare not, indeed :).
I am sure that the irony is lost on no one that as poignant as this message might be it would mean nothing or even be possible without the use of and embeddedness in our current technological advancement and ethos.
think of how rediculous the message of this clip would be if delivered by telegram…
Nice! As a side note, I use Scrivener for my sermon writing. I LOVE it. Best software I have ever purchased.
I’ve never heard of Scrivener, Jamie, although now I’m curious. What do you love about it?
The ability to bring all my sermons together, as well as all resources documents, websites, etc. into one program/file. The auto-save every 2 seconds and the navigation that takes no time at all. Just an amazing program.
Ryan I thought you used http://www.sermonsreadyforyoutouse.com for preaching?
🙂
ON a serious note that Scrivener looks awesome, especially for research! thanks for the heads up!
If you start some cult where tech isn’t allowed I’ll follow.
It’s a deal :).
